He(Fournette) is the best running back I have ever seen come from the Louisiana high school ranks
I still say Cecil Collins is the best.

Faulk >> Collins. We'll see on Fournette.
So much of his hype is in his potential. Faulk backed it up with results.
'But if he hadn't broken into that girls apt and rubbed his dick on her while she slept he would have run for 200+ in every game he ever played in.'

Posted by Message madddoggydawg Scott long interview with Mike Dettilier on LSU What does the rant think of Mike Dettilier? He is obviously knowledgeable, but he couldn't have been more off in his interview before the Bama game last year. Said we were built to beat them, would match up physically, etc.
He is very good IMO. Mike D wasn't wrong about LSU versus Bama. We didn't show up. We turnover the ball at the goal line and we fumbled the ball in our own territory. We helped the Tide win that game. If we take care of our business, we win that game or at least make it closer. Our miscues allowed Bama to feel free to keep grinding the ball at our defense.

He's solid, and I wouldn't hold that comment against him. We were tied with them 17-17 midway through the 3rd quarter, and who knows how the game would have played out had Copeland not fumbled at the one yard line on the game's opening drive. Our running game was on point during that drive, and a 7-0 start on our first possession could have gone a long way in terms of momentum.
Exactly. Don't forget about the the fake punt in the 3rd either. That really killed the defense in last years game. LSU was playing them very tough until that point and then they just crumbled.

Yes. Collins did play football after LSU ya know. Had his shot in the NFL before his crazy caught up with him. Faulk had a better college and pro career.

Of course he had a better career, I'm not saying that. I'm saying Collins is the most talented I've ever seen come out of high school.
ETA: If Collins would've never gotten into trouble, he would've broke records and became a hall of famer.

I don't know, I think the vast majority of LSU fans picked Bama in that one (there was a hilarious prediction thread where everyone was picking Bama by 20-40 pts).
Then Dettilier pumps us up all week on DD, and I'm thinking maybe we have a chance. Simply didn't match up physically with Bama last year (got wore out by their fronts) but Mike D was telling us it's a pick'em because we'd stand up to Bama with no fear (Got my hopes up when I initially conceded the L). Everyone in the nation knew Bama wasn't going to drop that game against our struggling D.

Slow down cowboy. Collins was trouble from WAY back and would have never stayed out of trouble. Back in high school, Guidry had to go pick the kid up at his house and make him go to school so he could play.....it started way back then and was continually an issue all thru his life.
There are plenty of guys who have the physical skills to be great football players.
Hall of Fame is ridiculous to mention for a back who played very very little.
Faulk was a better football player than Cecil. He was much more versatile and all around back. 2 different styles and hard to say one was better RB than the other.
