yea will smith proved me wrong. i was confident hed make that team; but i guess everyone saying he was out of gas was right.

He hasn't taken care of himself over the course of his career. He was a DE playing near the side of DT weight.

i think smith might be as good as guys like tyrunn walker, or glenn foster, and better than guys like daedridck, powell, rufus, or keyunta dawson. all those dudes look like pretty promising projects though.

He's just not a disruptive player anymore, period. Walker and Foster are. Deadrick has looked pretty good. Powell has been coming on as of late. I don't know what's up with Rufus.

maybe take him if our run defense is in dire straits

Can someone with PFF access post his run defense in 2012? I don't even know if he's that good of a run defender.

That year wasn't too bad(-2.1) and he was actually improving as he got older. He looked pretty solid at it during the 2013 preseason.

But he's had some terrible years with it in the past. His biggest issue was always over pursuing instead of holding the edge. He was getting better at it(maybe just because he was getting too slow to over pursue? )

Just about every big DeAngelo Williams against us was a cut back, usually to Smith's side.

His pass rush grades were all over the place. Some years good and some very bad and all in between.
