Side note: is Stephen king the most adaptable novelist ever for the big screen. It's amazing the amount, and quality of the films made from his books.

Stephen King seems to love money more than most of his peers because he continues to turn over the rights to his books for a lot of money and no creative control.

I know a crime novelist on the NYT best sellers every year whenever a new book comes out. He sold the rights to one of his books that was later made into a film starring a huge actor, and the movie sucked so bad and left the source material so far behind that he swore he'd never sell another one again, and he hasn't.
