The BMW is more expensive to fix, change oil, etc.
The Nissan is more practical but who's paying the bills on repairs and maintenance?
I'd shop around more. You can get some really nice cars for 12k. Check out some Accords, Camrys, and maybe some small suvs

That would be me.
I thought about maintenance and figured it would be higher. Just something about paying that much for an Altima. She doesn't like Camrys - Accords are more expensive than Altimas.
Thanks for the wisdom - might keep looking a little longer.
