Smith's exit was better (Tennant's was pretty whiny and drawn out), except for the full-grown Amy Pond part. I was extremely surprised (and pleased, because it would have ruined his entire era) they didn't kiss at that part.

ETA: They just need to make a spinoff for Strax and co.

ETA2: BBC's putting out a "Doctor Who Extra" weekly on iPlayer.

There's also going to be a shot at "Doctor-Companion" romances in the opener.

Back on track, probably my favorite moment from New-Who are the German Daleks in Journey's End.

I liked Amy's appearance, but if they had kissed it definitely would have ruined the era. (Not just because amy is his mother-in-law.) One of the best parts of that era is amy and Rory's relationship, specifically her character progression and eventual devotion to Rory after being so infatuated with the doctor. It's basically the antithesis of the doctor and rose, who left mickey at the drop of a hat, constantly belittled him, and never looked back. And 10 had no problem doing so.
