How can 3rd party "claims adjusters" who don't work for the insurer handle claims not be 'practicing law'?

I don't think it's so much that the profession breeds unhappiness as it is that the profession attracts people who tend to be unhappy.
I 'm pretty sure several studies have shown it does indeed breed unhappiness. Plenty of happy optimistic students go in and later studies show them to be depressed and pessimistic.
It's the nature of law school to breed pessimists as a pessimistic approach to life is an attribute for a lawyer--assuming and anticipating the worst.

Great point. Anything you have to do five days a week, 8 hours a day, you're eventually going to get sick of. I sit in this office and daydream about fishing. But I couldn't imagine having to fish every single day of my life, even in bad weather, whether I wanted to or not. I'd probably daydream of being in an air conditioned office.
