Sure, but did the police murder him? That has not been determined. The killing may have been justified by the circumstances. If Brown posed an imminent threat to the police officer performing his duties, then the police officer had a legal right to defend himself. A police officer killing someone while acting in his own defense is not murder. The issue that needs to be determined is whether the police officer's belief he was acting in self-defense was reasonable in the circumstances. If it was reasonable, then the killing was not murder.
