Yes the ballistics and autopsy should be able to corroborate one the two stories.
Because the alleged story for the officer is that he was charging at him when he was firing with the final round to the forehead is counter to the story that he was shot in the back etc it should pretty cut and dry quite honestly.
The one thing that raised an eyebrow for me was the families request to have an outside autopsy. This is complete speculation but if the official autopsy/ballistics corroborates the story of the witnesses and the narrative that been was prevalent during the first four days why the need for an outside autopsy?

Good point. If you are satisfied with the original autopsy report, than why have another one done.

Another question about the eyewitnesses story was that police officer grabbed 6'3 victim's neck while still seated in the car, that seems it would be tough to do from a squad car, maybe not if it were an SUV. Officer was treated at a hospital, the eyewitnesses story never mentions Brown laying a hand on officer, will be interesting to see the photos of the officers injuries. I also can't believe we have not seen a picture of the officer involved.

It's not cut and dried even if there's a shot in Michael's forehead. It could very well be that he turned around and put his hands up in surrender, and thus an unjustified homicide.
