Doesn't this give their fans even more reason to be a little more high and mighty?

Nope. They believe, 100%, that going to ND makes their players intelligent and moral. For most of them, the Te'o scandal was a witch hunt by the media. Their QB who got kicked out and let back in for cheating didn't actually cheat, the NCAA was just running a witch hunt. Also, they seriously think that the sports media is anti-ND. They are fricking delusional.

And I'm marrying into an ND-family

What are you talking about? There wasn't even an NCAA investigation with Golson.

I go to ND and have no clue what you are talking about. Most students here know the football players aren't the same as the normal student body here. No one thinks that Manti or Golson were witch hunts, and literally no one in the history of the universe has ever claimed that the media is anywhere close to anti-ND.

Maybe it's the alums. The majority of the current student body doesn't think any of that.
