A police officer was shot and killed in the city where I grew up. They did not release the name of the shooter for a few days. They referred to him as suspect, or shooter.

White officer. Black shooter. No national news. No riots. No looting. No Al Sharpton.

Pretty safe bet this is not the first altercation where a name has been withheld for less than 5 days from the incident (including those that did not have people chanting "kill the police").

Note: I would prefer they release the name but I get why they aren't and it is nothing remote close to unprecedented.

Why do you folks seem to think I am being inconsistent?

I can list a litany of things that have occurred that I think are incorrectly handled.

I have zero knowledge of the incident you mention. My default position is Gov. should have an extraordinary burden to meet to keep ANY secrets from the people.

"I'm scared the mob will attack" does not meet that threshold for me.
