Look at apartments in the southside area (Rojo, Highlands, Lakeview, Forrest Park, Glenn Iris), Homewood (be careful here, parts of Homewood are rough), and Hoover. Avoid North Birmingham, West Birmingham and East Birmingham.
If you end up on a street with a "SW" or "W" behind it, haul arse.
