Tips for first time snake drafter? Have done many auctions

My main league has been doing auctions for years. I have never done a snake draft, but I am doing one this weekend. Any big differences I should be aware of or different strategies?
Auction seems much more involved, so I am not really worrying much about the snake draft. Pretty much BPA down the line?

It's a totally different mindset, but not rocket science. The key is know your draft order pre-draft. You'll have to consider that in planning your strategy.

How's this work? Gotta be tied into BPA somehow?

Just draft the best player available with the most upside. And always think about who you're taking with your next pick before you make your first

as opposed to drafting strictly based on highest projected points, you're drafting based projected points relative to what's left at that position.
here's an article on VBD
Read a couple of this guy Bale's books. Good stuff.

You had me until this

The Bottom Line
The bottom line is that you should be drafting a quarterback or running back in the first round. At the top of the draft, Arian Foster, LeSean McCoy and Ray Rice are the obvious choices. Remember, although running backs don't have extraordinary consistency in general, the elite backs tend to repeat their dominant performances from year to year.

Article is from 2012. Obviously the player analysis is dated but the VBD strategy advice remains pertinent

I took it as the article was pertaining to last years draft, correct?

Pick the best player available or you will be "chasing point" the entire draft..
