Going back to the OP. I couldn't stand Nelson Rockefeller. Glad Nixon got the nomination over him. The term "Rockefeller Republican" now is called 'RINO.'

I was extremely impressed with Ronald Reagan's speech at the Convention and much preferred him to Nixon.

The more interesting convention was the Dems. For those of you not old enough to remember the details in real time the dominant issue was the VN war and that was TOTALLY on the Dems. Kennedy started with advisers and then LBJ blew it up.

In today's media I'm sure they could have blamed the whole Vietnam thing on Eisenhower and LBJ would have stayed in the race and won.

The "1968" episode of the Sixties on CNN had a good bit on the convention.
