For one that is not hunters speciality. He is a speed rusher and comes at an angle for a reason. Hunters athleticism is neutralized when going straight on, especially with that mammoth having perfect technique and pad level.

that may be the case, but the coaching staff paired those 2 up knowing that and I believe to test Hunter's moxie. they know Hawkins is a road grader...its Hunter they were testing...I bet anyway

Hawkins isnt exactly a pushover, and Hunter is a speed rusher with great athleticism, Hawk winning this matchup in this drill is expected. No knock on Hunter at all, thats just not his style

Hunter won't be asked to stand in one location against a tackle. That's the purpose of this drill to get low and drive straight ahead without any moves. That's what the OT does, the DE gets around him by any means necessary.
