It's the penmanship that counts. Not the size of the pen that matters.

I thought mine was bad venting into the garage. I ended up using one of these, but they make different types that would catch everything before it messed up your condenser.
I looked into that, but the dryer sits against the back wall, and vents straight out the back. No room to move it forward without blocking the path. Can't go sideways to the left because of the washing machine, could go to the right, but then I'd have to give up our extra fridge. A/C guy said it wouldn't really hurt anything so long as I keep the cooling things rinsed off every week or two. When the time comes to replace the units, I'm going to look at having them moved, but that would mean running new lines for the freon, and they'd have to be on the outside of the house up to the attic on the third floor, from what I understand.

I mounted mine on the other side of the wall, so it still vents in the garage. It does dehumidifiey the air at least, but would probably be a pain to keep up outside.

This happened to me and I asked the repair if lightning or a power surge could have caused it. He said yes and I told him to write it up that way and he could change it. He did and the Home owners insurance paid for it.

I'm having the same issue. Last night it took 4 hours to drop the temp 2 degrees. I don't care how hot it is, that ain't right for my AC. Tech is coming out today.

Update: Technician tested everything. Freon, air split, controls in condensor, fan motor....nothing wrong. Everything spot on. More than likely, it's simply a very old outdoor unit that is beginning to show signs of it's age. I'll have to keep an eye on it. Will end up replacing sooner rather than later.
