Thanks everyone.
All I know is, I'm freaking pumped. Just thinking that I made that little tiny human is awesome. Wife is already like super woman around the house. Still pulling 12 hour shifts at 8 months preggo. I've picked up all the house duties.
I'm honestly not that worried, until I start hearing how horrible it is and we will never do anything fun, etc. The typically kids are horrible talk from people that don't really have an understanding of it.

Like others have said, it isn't that hard, except for the lack of sleep. I found myself napping in my truck during lunch...it really helped.
We have an 18 month old daughter, and it has been amazing. Get you a good camera and take plenty of pictures.
I was always nervous about her having SIDS or something...not sure why. One day she was taking a nap and I went to check on her and thought she wasn't breathing, I freaked and grabber her up and was kinda shaking her a little and she woke up and looked at me like...what the hell are you doing?? Was pretty funny after the fact.
Good luck, you'll do fine! Congrats.

Babies are pretty easy. A sick baby is the tough part.

Actually finding time to have fun as a couple is one of the most important things you can do. Get some family to take the baby for a night while yall go out and have a date night. You have to have that. You guys are still a couple. The only problem, is that being parents, you'll likely spend the whole night talking about how much you miss the baby and how you can't wait to get back to see your child.

Don't ever listen to anyone who doesn't have a kid. They have no clue how rewarding having created a life can be.

This is more the parents' fault than the baby's. You can make fun things happen if you still want them to. Especially of you have family in the area who want to help.
Let your wife go out with just her friends after you feel comfortable being alone with your daughter and when (if) yall do pumping and/or bottles. Not only will it most likely be returned in kind, just one night of stress relief lasts a long time, especially for your wife.
