I have a beautiful CZ 75 and love it
I prefer Springfield over kimber
I think the kimber uses more MIM parts inside that the colt and Springfield
A-1 loaded is a fine weapon

So do I but ill say that a Kimber is a nice pistol and you get a lot more bling for your money.
OP: buying a Kimber at the 800-1000 dollar price range is not a mistake. The Kimber guns in this price range definitely have more bells and whistles than the springfields of comparable price. There are several models to choose from and I would just go with whatever feels and aesthetically pleases you from there.
