I'd guess 95% of the truck traffic on that bridge is going from WBR to Livingston on I-12, not to New Orleans, so a southern loop will have a minimal impact on the truck traffic on that bridge. I keep saying it like a broken record - Baton Rouge needs a bypass just like Birmingham's I459, not a loop.

OR....

A four lane through-way Flyover from Livingston to West Baton Rouge Parish right North of the present I-12/I-10 corridor. Build it up high above the present roadway. Zero or only one or two local interchanges from before Denham Springs to past Port Allen. Make it a Toll road, through traffic will pay for it.
