The hotels are set up in a similar fashion. They have a date when you can log on and request hotels nearby. Those go almost as quickly as the tickets to the Con.

It depends on the panel that you want to see. Some fill up hours in advance, some have very small lines. We got up early and camped out for Hall H and just stayed in there throughout Saturday and saw all of the best movie panels.
One afternoon they were begging people to come in and fill the hall and it turned out we were seeing the panel for Super with James Gunn, Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, and Nathan Fillion. We got into see Will Ferrell do an hour on stage with no wait at all.
And very few lines to talk to the comic book creators. The big lines were to see the movie and TV stars.
