I went Amsterdam (3 days),Berlin(1), Prague(2), munich(2), interlaken(3), marseille(2), nice(2), and Barcelona (3) recently and I wouldn't have visited Europe any other way. I got to see pretty much everything and sure it was tireing but it was awesome and you can rest when you get home. Just get a eurail pass and do it that way. Id reccomend getting a first class pass as it's much more comfortable than second class and it's not much more expensive

ETA: to those people saying you can't experience any of the stuff in a few days at each city are wrong. If you don't waste time and appreciate and use your time wisely you can get a better experience than only going to a few cities. Hope I helped!

The argument isn't that you can't "see a bunch of shite" but if you can truly get a grasp of the local culture and people moving that often. Or perhaps, god forbid, make a friend with a local in your time there.

However, how one chooses to travel is personal preference.
