So if they get married and she is working, she shouldn't be responsible for any of the mortgage? I don't understand that. She has a job, why not put her money towards the house she lives in?

Exactly.

Establish from the beginning that she'll be held accountable for the apartment, and by extension, the relationship. It's not about the money, he obviously can afford the place by himself. I can't imagine marrying someone that would object to paying rent.

She asked how much she should pay so she sounds like a keeper.
