I won a small prize from STAR last year- it was only $1500, but even so I could continue entering the STAR for the next 30 more years before breaking even.
Best way to hedge your bets is to fish from a kayak with a fly rod. That way, you can choose to enter your big trout into either the kayak, boat or fly fishing divisions!
And of course you still have a shot at the tagged reds too!
