Yep.
If I hear my daughter crying during her nap or in the morning, I check the monitor and if she is still laying down, I know she will just go back to sleep, but if she is standing up, it means just is awake and ready to get out.

Bingo.
My little dude will wake up in the middle of the night right now, hes teething, and the fact that I can see him while he cries tells me how bad it hurts.
