If people are asking FSG to spend money out of their own pockets... that ain't going to happen. We don't have a multi-billionaire owner who owns the club as a play toy. Of course they are treating it like a self-sustaining business.
They were always banking on FFP to level the playing field, so to speak and invest in youth and development. I'm sure Paltini's announcement on FFP didn't come as welcome news to them.
What I think can be done, is overhaul the current hierarchy we have in place and get in better people (DoF, Manager, etc.) to work within those constraints.
IMO, unless we just get unbelievably lucky with all are transfers and youth development, its going to be a journey of incremental success until we can compete with the Chelsea's/Man U/City's of the world on a year in and year out basis. I think that we caught lightning in a bottle last season and it went to all of our heads a bit too much (from the owners down to the supporters), in regards to where we really stand.
