Small commercial banks are paying ~40k for a jr analyst. The bigger banks are 25-50% higher, but are probably going to be looking for finance experience. Still worth a shot, though.

Go to work for one of the regulators if you can. The OCC starts near $50K with amazing benefits. You learn banking inside and out. Consultants constantly steal examiners, or try to...some won't leave even for more money since the work/life balance is so good.
