Our 3 and 6 year old boys have an old ipad 1 that I had. Has a good leather case and is pretty indestructible. Use it to play angry birds, grumpy bears and one buzz light year matching game.
We also have amazon prime and netflix on it with kid based profiles so they can watch their shows. Spongebob gets a work out from the 3 year old.

My two year old has an iPad that I slap movies on wirelessly whenever I feel froggy. He can turn it on, find the videos, and pick the movie he wants to watch. It's helpful on car trips, and when we just need a break for a little bit.
I got a 64 gig so he can have a nice collection. It's also the first generation and I got it off eBay for $100.
