Well, a few well placed nukes would go a long way. Hell, having a lot of the planet in shambles paid off big for us, post WWII.

no, but we should spend the same amount of focus and resources on becoming a world soccer power. Sure we have great American football and basketball players, but that means next to nothing in the grand scheme of things. So what if we can beat Germany in basketball, they don't care about that, we don't really care about that either, nor does anyone in the rest of the world care about it. But that Germany can kick our arse in soccer is a big deal on the world stage.
