Instead of starting a new thread, I'm just going to bump this one with my question.

I need some assistance with waterproofing the hatches on my FS12T. The smaller circular one with the bag in it needs some help for sure (RIP my phone). Where should I apply the actual silicone sealant and which sealant should I use? Other than the actual threading where the cap screws in, I didn't really see a great place to put it.

Same question for the larger rectangular hatch.

Also, random question. You folks yakking with scupper plugs in or out? Just curious.

Thanks.

Flex seal, brah

I have six scupper holes. Usually only plug the two closest to the seat unless it's rough.

I put a bead on the outside edge of both hatches but neither really seemed to need it.

I have more of a problem with the scuppers. I siliconed the seam on all of mine but I still get a substantial amount of water in the hull, a solid quart or 2 after a trip. I may need to try some sort of flexible marine epoxy or something next time. It's just a bitch to get in the scupper hole and seal the seam.

I just keep a bin and marine bag in the hull to prevent water getting in my stuff so it's not a huge deal

I put all mine in unless it's starting to rain. I don't seem to get enough splashing water in it for it to be a problem in the summer heat.

ETA my round hatch hasn't leaked any, but the only thing I keep in there is my phone and it's in a lifeproof case so no worries
