Posted by Message Revelator Rand Paul Says Jesus Wouldn’t Like the GOP’s Taste for War The Jews of his day were definately looking for a warrior king to come back in the mold of King David. It's one of the reasons they didn't accept him as messiah.
Interesting, could you give more details please. Not doubting you just a different take.

It's Old Testament Jewish history. God formed the Jewisj nation with Abraham and he ( God) was their king. Then the Jews saw all their neighbors had earthly kings and they wanted one too. Saul was their first king, followed by king David. David was a military king that killed many men and his armies conquered many lands.
The coming messiah was to be a decendent of king David and the Jews were expecting him to come
back and militarily reestablish Israel as a powerful nation.
When Jesus came as a peaceful spiritual messiah instead of a warrior king, they rejected him not realizing his plans for Israel were meant to be spiritual more than Earthly.
