Yea, you always have to trade these guys at a discount, never getting "fair" value back, mostly because it's virtually impossible to do.

The Gasols trade, definitely worked out well for both, I think fans just overreacted big time to that one.

To be fair, fans overreacted at the time because it looked like the Lakers were fleecing the Grizzlies. The only thing people knew about Marc Gasol at that time was he is Pau's brother. I don't think many, if any at all, expected this to come from Marc. I can't even imagine the Grizzlies' brass were going "Guys, we have a future Defensive Player of the Year here in Marc."
