Yep, definitely thought they were going there.
All in all I guess I prefer the completely pointless head fake to them going Dexter finale level stupid.
Well, add #4 to my list of redeeming qualities:
4) Dexter's finale was much worse.

I thought for sure Sarah Newlin
would be the cure, the one that restores vampire health, while Sookie would be the savior, the one that restores vampires to human existence. I laughed partly with relief when she staked Bill and that possibility fizzled out.
