I'm trying to understand why my apartment made me give a 60 day notice, when the article says 30 day notice.

They are basically making me pay an additional months rent at the "month to month rate"...not my original rate. My apartment said since your lease ends July 4th and you have to give 60 days notice, you'll be living there for another 30 days....Is that even legal?

My original rate (and had I renewed) is $1250
Month to month is $1700
