That statement about why they closed was delusional.
It wasn't just the costs to dine there that limited their customer base. It was also the menu format (prix fixe no ala carte) and his strict no substitutions policy that exponentially contracted his market.
I would have loved to hear what he had planned to do to rectify his declining sales. I bet he had nothing.

Ate at Stanley's. Was not impressed at all. Struck me as a fast food version of fine dining for breakfast. They "swear by the potato/hash brown" stuff because you can easily fix it in advance and just keep it warm.
Bought some photography from a guy the wife and I fell in love with who maintains a studio on Royal Street for our home a little over a year ago. He happened to do all of the artwork for Stanley. Based on what we paid for four pieces, unless he got a huge hometown discount, this guy paid lavishly just to decorate the joint, and it never got what he was going after there.
But if Stanley is what's your "lifeline," then why the need for a fundraiser to save it? Sounds more like a fundraiser to make the last payroll and settle your A/P issues at Stella.
