Notice that Halo Reach and 4 have terrible maps compared to the first 3 games? Sprint forces the map makers to stretch the maps out. It completely breaks the mechanics of Halo. IT eliminates strafing, power positions on maps, and allows for players to make bad pushes and not pay for it.
Halo 1,2, and 3 were huge successes. Reach and 4 were flops. I'd say sticking the tried and true formula is the way to go. 343i will get the picture when more people are playing MCC than 5 bc of things like sprint. Luckily we get the beta a year early and if enough people complain they take it out for the final game.

IMO this has a lot more to do with the other powerups as well as the lack of rankings.
