And not making an excuse for anything, but obviously injuries play a heavy role in making it to Omaha or not. This falls in that good fortune category. What if LSU had those pitchers that were hurt before the season started? How far could they have gone then? They certainly would have been in better shape on Monday night than throwing a kid out there that couldn't even record an out because he was too amped up after guaranteeing a win.
