Treat your fans like customers long enough, and eventually they’ll start behaving that way, reducing their irrational love for their team to a cool-headed, dollars-and-cents decision to buy tickets or not, with no more emotional investment than deciding whether to go to the movies.

Nailed it.

we have no choice but to stay on the train. If you really think about what we are spending our money on it makes no logical sense. So, its an emotionally dominated decision. Well, there are fewer and fewer emotional based decision makers (individuals) who can afford the game day experience in major college football. I suspect we will see LSU sell alcohol in the next 2 years as a revenue generator and then we will see a "package" of tickets offered -- 1 great game, 2 good ones and 1 not so good one. Then you are buying a set of tickets to the season instead of the entire season ticket package. Ohio State does this --

We definitely need to reenergize the atmosphere in 2014. Stadium has come down a couple notches.

Not an excuse but so have many of the other SEC schools I went to over the last 3 years. A&M was nuts and it was 11am -- but those guys were so damn excited to be in the SEC it was silly.
