re: Do you say "Black" or "African American"?

I worked with a white guy that was married to a black woman. Her family immigrated from the Caribbean.

He preferred the term "Person of African Decent."

Also, I took African and African-American studies at LSU. The consensus was that black was generally ok, but that some prefer African-American.
