re: Do you say "Black" or "African American"?

If Erni Els became a US citizen I would describe him by saying look at that American of African heredity. My english professor and I would argue over how to describe Mexican Americans, African Americans, Native Americans and so on. He wanted to be called Hispanic American and he would get upset when I would explain he was an American of Hispanic heritage. To put your heritage in front of your citizenship is divisive. Race baters know this because most people take pride in their heritage. I call myself an American of Native heritage.
