Birmingham for me.

I lived in Bham for 2 and a half years but have only visited memphis. So sure my opinion is probably biased, but I mean all I have to go on is my own experiences right?

Memphis has Beale street and some of the surrounding areas (I think called germantown maybe?) which are cool, but I mean other than that it doesn't seem like there's much there.

Birmingham has a nice little restaurant/bar area in Lakeview, has hiking, good golf, etc. It just seems like there's more to do, I suppose. Also the areas around Bham (hoover, vestavia, mountain brook, etc) are all pretty nice.

There's not. Plus, Beale is horrendously overrated, and the areas adjacent to it are war zones.

Germantown has become like the Dallas suberbs -- nice but faceless, and traffic is a nightmare.
