OB paddlers: When is west cove marsh (Big Lake) open?

I went for the first time a couple weeks ago and there was a sign as you enter the marsh stating certain days that it was closed before noon. Anybody memorize these days? I searched online but couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks

If its like most waterfowl refuges it is for October through march

That's for marsh off West Cove Canal. You can launch and paddle into West Cove all year, and get into the marsh by the Old Settlement Canal.
