Whoops. Forgot to watch the second episode from last week so I will catch all 3 here. Posting a bit grumpy or more so than normal.

Season 5 Episode 4
The Bullet That Saved The World

Only needed to read the title of the episode to catch the sad.
How did VHS beat Betamax? Betamax had smaller tapes. Usually smaller wins out.

Glad that first observer knew something was up. The simple act of trying to focus on one subject should alert any observer that something is up. people who aren't hiding something tend to have their thoughts constantly bounce around. If someone is focusing hard on one thing, chances are they are trying to hide from mind readers thus they need to head over to re-education camp to meet Simon's head.

Do not search Simon's head animated gif! I was looking for the gif with his eyes blinking but that is not what Bing wanted to show me.

So Peter goes DOWN into the sewer, runs around one corner to avoid the grenade and somehow a storm drain has him back UP.

Ha! So he was supposed to be running through random thoughts. Ok, that neuters my earlier gripe but evidently Petey wasn't doing a good job of random crap.

Heck, just think of sex. Guys spend 99.9% of their day thinking about that so it would be believable.

Just proved my point.

So the Observer finds out that Pete & The Gang are at Harvard but he doesn't immediately send troops?

I really don't see how Broyles could have lasted 20+ years. Being surrounded by Observers all day, I just don't see how he could have survived and not broadcasted his feelings.

Hey Ajak! How about waiting a few minutes before pushing the grating open and how about setting it down instead of letting it loudly hit the ground.

Damn Walter! That is an evil way to kill someone. Slow suffocation.

How can you be a good lookout? Isn't it impossible to check for observers and loyalists without thinking about loyalists and observers?

Sorry Peter. DDL has your two pistols beat. 2 Kentucky rifles for the win.

Oh come on. Are we supposed to believe Broyles would carry around a picture of Olivia and Peter?

And now a family reunion? That is just plain stupid.

You won't make it by Car??? On foot works better???

How about take the tracker off. Take off driving and then ditch the tracker like we have all seen 400 times on other shows.

Etta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So why exactly did Widmark shoot and leave IMMEDIATELY when he knew there were other fugitives in the building?

Poor Etta. That really messed me up on first viewing? At least she took a pile of observers with her. Too bad she just missed W.

Back to reality....how did they get away from the surrounded area? with less than 30 seconds, how did that get back to the car? The same car that was too dangerous to use just 4 minutes ago?

Peter needs to go on a.....

Season 5 Episode 5
An Origin Story

Why exactly are they hanging out in Etta's house? And taking their time in Etta's house. As Fringe agents, they KNOW the house would at minimum be under some form of surveillance. Yet, they appear to be doing some nice estate packing. Nonsensical.

Instead of destroying shipments of equipment to build the atmospheric equipment, how about destroying the MASSIVE atmospheric equipment. Seems they could do a pile of damage with the bombs Broyles gave them in his care package.

Good! Peter does want to go...

Look at the big brain on Brad. First Peter was able to fool around with the World Device Thingamajig and now he is going to be able to figure out tech from 1000s of years in the future.

Wait, so they caught the observer and his key from the site of the transfer BEFORE the opening transfer. Don't you think they would have changed the site, if they knew someone stole the key?

Observers have super strength. Widmark picked Etta up with one hand. How is that observer being restrained? Seems like he should be able to break free from that table restraint pretty easily. He is strapped down. Easy peasy, Japanesey.

Super scientist and marital counselor. Walter is a beast.

The wormhole opened and yet Peter waited....just long enough for the observers. Stupid writing. Why didn't he fire immediately?

So Peter plans to remove the implants and then somehow implant them into his head? Really? I get that he is fueled by rage but he is going to stab his brain not knowing if each chip is coded for each observer or even knowing the precise connections for the chip. There is no way he would know the implant would crawl into his spine on its own.

Season 5 Episode 46
Through The Looking Glass And What Walter Found There

I am getting some really weird search results from Bing today. Yeah, I use Bing. Been using it for several months now. I seem to get better animated gif results from Bing but today I am getting some twisted crap.

Even more time in Netta's place. Why not just move in since the observers aren't aware of Crime Surveillance 101.

If you were an Observer, wouldn't tracking be built into that little chip? Seems like a standard feature.

Here comes Coke's favorite bit with the dancing moves to switch dimensions.

or was it more of a...

Wasn't it going to destroy both universes to open a pocket universe?

He doesn't exercise, so how come Walter isn't 450 pounds. They guy is 100% controlled by food.

So there is some really tricky physics behind getting into the pocket universe but a bomb blast sends a guy into the pocket?

Sure hope Walter left the kid with some food and water.

I guess not.

I guess the whole physics of dancing around was garbage since the bomb victim got in and now the observers can walk straight in. If physics are all wonky, why are the observers able to teleport where they want to go? Shouldn't the distortions cause them to appear in the wall or floor.

Time for one of my pet peeve escape from surrounded building just like a bad guy on 24.

Now Peter is a world class shot like Olive.
Peter is the kwisatz haderach! Oh no! Peter's in the Matrix.

He's back.

OP is updated with this week's assignment. I wasn't able to watch these two episodes this weekend because I was on a huge old school gaming kick and decided to break out my old NES and beat every Super Mario Brothers game I had. So that's what I spent my spare time this weekend doing.

But I plan on watching them tonight and posting my shite in here tomorrow morning (and responding to Myth and whoever else posted their thoughts).

*Off to search "simon's head gif."*

Were you maybe thinking of Herman's Head?

Or song lyrics..that was my thought.

There are a lot of questions like these when it comes to the Observers.

^^^ like I just said...
quote:

He likely just brought it with him because he knew he was going to see them that day. And I can't believe you think the reunion was stupid...I thought it was pretty awesome. And necessary (have to reunite them this late in the game since they were so close for so long).

So why exactly did Widmark shoot and leave IMMEDIATELY when he knew there were other fugitives in the building?

I said the same thing.

Yup. You'd think that the Obs would be investigating Etta and what all she was into since she is basically a huge fugitive and one of the biggest thorns in their side. But nope, guess not.

I almost included this in my comments. I know he's smart, but he can literally figure any machine out, no matter what century it was made.

But at least they show him struggling to figure it out and having to use the Observer to help him (even though it didn't work).
quote:

Wait, so they caught the observer and his key from the site of the transfer BEFORE the opening transfer. Don't you think they would have changed the site, if they knew someone stole the key?

It wasn't the same site. They (Fringe team) just had gotten the coordinates of the new site and then went out there (and called Peter and told him to meet them there with the device).

Thought the same thing, but let it slide. I assume they know enough about them to be able to create restraints that would work.

A Walter consult would've done wonders IMO.

And horrible (for you) food at that.

I think it was tricky physics to find the opening. The bomb blast randomly shot him into the portal. As you see later, all you need to do is step at the correct angle and you can enter teh portal no problem.

Peter's in the Matrix.

Same thing I said. shite like that makes me wish the few of us participating could watch these things together and MST3000 every episode.
