Now before episode 20 the Finale was there any clear signs of a alternate universe? Or was the truck from the other side the first sign of it? I know charlie couldn't make sense of it but it always seems that charlie didn't really believe anything about fringe science.
I don't think there was anything concrete, just musings from ZFT for example, and maybe an offhand comment here and there. And you're right, Charlie never did really buy into much of what the Fringe team was investigating, not even after bing attacked by that creature thing.

But here is my theory. The entire reason that September got involved with our timeline is to help Walter bring the child observer to the future to stop the observers all together. So September is making sure that this happens that is why he is involved so much in this show behind the scenes so to speak.
Well yeah...September, for whatever reason, got attached to this timeline and its people (like saving younr Peter from drowning, for example) and tried to save it from collapsing, right? he's always been around observing, and interfering, and that's what gets him into trouble with the other Observers later in the series, the fact that he dabbled when he shouldn't have, right?

well yeah and this show really pushed the butterfly effect I remember one episode where they traced out what happened after peter died a lightning bug he caught cause the death of another child. The observers where there to make sure nothing changed with the timeline to protect themselves, September I believe is doing the exact opposite.
We all know about Septembers involvement in the timeline but I don't ever remember if they made it clear he played a major role from the beginning.
