I really have no idea. But kilnsmann > Donovan as a player and it isn't even close. That would be my argument as why kilnnsman still had an impact at 33. I just don't see this as a surprise. Did y'all thin LD would play for ever?

I don't know what went on behind the scenes, but maybe it was case of well he's going to be on the bench, are we going to hear him bitch the whole time? I doubt it, but the two don't see eye to eye so its possible.

I don't know a whole lot about Davis, found this:
quote:

An original Dynamo player and the club's all-time leader in games, starts, and assists. This talented left-footed midfielder has the most assists (28) in MLS over the last two seasons (2012, 2011). Set career-high with 16 assists in 2011 and was MLS MVP runner-up. Has recorded 12 assists or more in each of last four seasons

Not too shabby.

Agree.

I, like many others am a big Landon Donovan fan but there has been some "interesting behavior" over the last couple of years with Landon questioning his soccer future. Who is to say Landon didnt bring this on himself? The automatic hanging in effigy of Klinsman without at least taking a pause to try and examine the decision from all angles is a little surprising. The automatic "but Davis WTF!?!" is just knee jerk. What if Landon gave him no choice?

Dont know what really is going on behind the scenes on this one but Landon's past behavior leaves plenty of reason to error on the side of not blindly bashing Klinsman.

Damn. That is impressive.

We should try to find the active MLS career leader in assists, and see if he's USMNT-eligible.

I know MLS is a shite league, but he might be able to make a difference.

That's pretty apparent. There's no doubt that the man can whip in a beautiful cross, but he's extremely slow and wont' get anywhere near a position to do so against the likes of Ghana, Portugal, and Germany.
