After reading this I sincerely hope Les does whatever it takes to keep Cam around LSU for a long time.

“If coach Cam wasn’t at LSU then I can honestly say I don’t know if I would be going there. What he did with the offense and with the quarterback play in just one year, and also with the receivers, it showed how amazing he was. The whole offense at practice was intriguing to me, and I knew he could get me where I wanted to go.”

Didn't Dupre say something along those lines before?

He may have but I don't recall him ever basically saying he would have went elsewhere if not for Cam.

Would you want to play for Stud?

If I'm a skill guy, absolutely not.

Yes In article a month or so ago saying Cam was the deciding factor to come to LSU, without that piece he would have gone elsewhere.

I also attribute Harris to Cameron as well as a few other offensive guys.
The dude flat out can recruit and coach.

I've said it out loud a thousand times... We have made homerun hires with the football staff post John Chavis' hiring
I legitimately feel we have the best staff in the country in regards to collective recruiting, coaching and player development. Let's keep them together and don't let me down BDP!

i realize cam is from the NFL. however, people keep talking about what cam did for the offense. i don't see it. cam was handed hill, obj, mett, landry, turner, collins. thats the best group of offensive talent in the les miles era. i saw a lot of individual stats but i don't see how the offense scored that many more points than in previous years or won us any games with come from behind scoring (ie georgia). cam is a very good coach but i didn't see any impact on WINS last year.

agreed. And I think our staff is a top 2 or 3 in the country. We have two of the best coordinators in the game and Haley/Wilson as assistants.
It's kind of incredible really.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. It's a perception issue for kids. Cameron's name brings in credibility. It's the same as when recruits hear Saban's name. It's all about credibility.

Uh... The offense was responsible for at least the first 7 or 8 of our wins last season and was the only reason we were even close in the Georgia game. Couldn't come from behind in Georgia? Are you serious? Not only did we come from behind and answer the bell each time, but the reason we lost that game was because of our defense, which was too young and inexperienced to cope with a healthy Georgia offense. It was not until late in the season that personnel changes and coaching gelled our defense, particularly in the secondary, and we started to see play rising to the level that we have become accustomed to in the John Chavis era. And even then it was inconsistent.
Cam was given talent, but so was Stud. That same talent took the field on the offensive side of the ball in 2012 and we were one of the worst offenses in the country. Luckily our defense was unbelievable and bailed out the offense, much like it did in 2011.
Only when the talent of our offense and defense coincide will we win another championship, and with Cam at the helm of our offense, it has been shown that he can raise the level of play on that side of the ball. Period. Let's hope he can get through to Harris or Jennings (or shite, Rettig, I don't really care who plays QB), and we get some explosiveness from our skill positions. Because if I had to guess, our defense will once again be pretty damn good.

Really??? This whole time, our Deffense and Special Teams has carried us. For the first time since the Malveto years, our D wasn't there to help us stop key drives. Give us any Chavis D besides this past year and we beat UGA and Ole Miss. Not to mention, we would have had the ball longer and more often.
We had to break in do many young guys on D that it also effected our Offense. Cam had us in a position to win every game. It was our youth and lack of depth on D that cost us.

You greatly underappreciate the talent that has been here in years past, Randle, Toliver, Trindon, Ridley, etc. Our offense covered a defense that was just bad at times. Without the offensive output last years season could have went completely the other direction.

Man you are kidding right? If not for this guy we would have maybe gone 7-5 last year. We had the same guys the year before and the offense struggled. With Cam the offense became more than just a two-runs and pass on 3rd and 5 leading to a high powered offense. Whens the last time we said that. This guy has made LSU passing game siginificant again and QB and WR recruits have taken notice

our offense has scored points EVERY year. comparing 2013 to 2012. how many points did we scored on bama in 2013 under cam versus 2012. how about ole piss 2013 vs. 2012. we lost both gaes in 2013. not saying cam isn't a very good coach but 2013 is more a function of seasoned offensive talent than cam. see nfl draft.

If you think the LSU passing game was anything other than an anemic joke before Cam Cameron arrived, then you literally are too stupid to insult.

If Cam's success was due to elite talent, but elite talent wants to come to LSU now because of him, then we will continue to have elite talent. Which by your logic means we will have more elite offenses. You're complaining for no reason.
