Agreed it's a pretty shitty marketing scam for LR to offer a luxurious "off road" vehicle. I mean they advertise a range rover sitting on a fake mountain at their dealership.

Yeah go drive your car in the mountains and mud that has all sorts of specific computer needs and electrical parts. Sounds legit. Use it as an everyday vehicle in a state as flat as Louisiana and it's fine.

Domenica has 3 1/2 stars on yelp and it's the best pizza in the city. Or since CADX is posting, amazon has thousands of shitty parts with 5 star reviews. You can't read a review like its black and white. And that's what the OT does everytime someone posts a thread about LR.

i forgot another story, also a Discovery. My next door neighbor went out to start the AC in his while he was getting his kids ready for soccer one saturday morning.

now nashville is humid & hot in the summer, but not NEARLY as bad as south louisiana.

within an hour the radiator exploded. when the dealership showed up to tow it (yes it was under warranty) the mechanic i spoke to said these cars were designed for dry arid heat, not the mugginess of the southeast US and that's why the radiator blew up.

eta these are all events i witnessed with my own eyes..and some of which i paid for out of my own pocket.

eta2 - all these vehicles were in the 1995-2006 range. i'm not speaking for any of the models released after ford bought the brand.
