Just got back from this.

Let me start with this.

I have been reading Spiderman comic books since the early 70s. Yeah...I'm old.

Andrew Garfield IS Peter Parker.

He plays him exactly how I would expect him to be.

From the brooding Peter to the hysterical Spidey. I like the Maquire portrayal well enough, but I never really bought Maguire as Peter Parker.

Garfield however is a monster in the part....amazing.

Now on to the movie. I went in expecting this to be a shite-fest. TD as always gave me a negative view of it. SO negative I almost decided not to see it. What a fricking mistake that would have been.

The plot was tight. I was terrified they were going to frick this up like they did with number 3 in the original spiderman series with too many bad guys. They did not.

Electro, while not 100 true to the comics was pretty good as a bad guy. But GG, I can see him as the foil to Spidey for a long time to come.

EXACTLY AS IT SHOULD BE.

and for the exact reasons you'd expect.

I still think this summer's Captain America is the best "super hero" movie I have seen in years. The Amazing Spiderman does deserve your popcorn money.

Ignore the critics...they are wrong.

Just got back with my family...loved it. Of course, I really enjoyed the first one for the most part. Funny thing, Peter/Spidey and Gwen have been the best parts of both movies BY FAR for me, and I really enjoyed that here.

And yeah...Garfield is about as well cast in his role as RDJ is as Tony Stark. The guy is killing it and it's fun to watch.
