The Heisman just isn't all that important anymore. Sure, it's a nice trophy with lots of history but it doesn't pay the bills or even get you drafted, just ask Jason White.

Back in the 50's it did matter, it was a way for an unknown from Nebraska to catch the eye of an NFL team that was only looking in major markets. Now every college team has a pro day and plenty of TV coverage.

Sure it is. That helps the school in recruiting future running backs and LSU is known for their running game. Would help to have heisman trophy winning backs.
