Dallas just has too much urban sprawl and faceless subdivisions to be interesting to a young college grad.

Charlottesville, Virginia is a really awesome town, but you'll get the OT started on the whole "Virginia isn't Southern" debate.


Or, and this cuts against what you're looking for, you could move to a city like Boston or Manhattan. People up north dig the Southern charm. Not kidding.

Live in the city. Dallas has more opportunity for in town affordable and nice housing than any city in the country, IMO.
