This, or kids. But it's more of a growing apart than a breaking off the relationship.

Sometimes even without family reasons getting in the way, your interests change over the years. They still want to go out while you'd rather have drinks at home instead of in a bar; things like that. Or your hobbies change and they continue to want to do the same thing, so you find other people to share those new interests with.
