While Shazier & David do compare favorably in terms of measurables, Shazier doesn’t play with same physical mindset as David. David is much more of a physical linebacker & he's been that way since day one. Shazier can be taught better shedding techniques when it comes to getting off of blocks but he can't be taught how to be more physical. Some guys have it, some don't. Shazier is the type of LB who thrives on using his athleticism. He doesn't have great natural instincts for an inside linebacker. He can be a really good asset against the pass because of athleticism though.

Just to play Devil's Advocate, when you say say Day 1 in regards to David, are you referring to Day 1 of his pro career? If so, it would be hard to judge what David has done in the pros, compared to Shazier who hasn't played a professional snap yet. While I have only seen a few of Shaizer's games this year, I didn't see much of David at Nebraska, so I wouldn't be able to compare their college careers personally.
